Article: NB-Rail (RFU / QC)
At European level, the notified bodies are organised in an ‘NB Rail’ coordination group. The legal basis for this is the Interoperability Directive (EU) 2016/797. In this way the members
- link to the EU Commission and ERA,
- exchange experience and information,
- formulate suggestions for improvement for future TSIs and standards,
- Recommendations for use (RFU) are drawn up (see below),
- ‘Questions for clarification (QC) dealt with (see below).
Addition to RFU: The inclusion of representatives of the ERA and the EU Commission in the RFU ensures subsequent acceptance in the sector. RFUs represent a coordinated position of all parties involved and thus ensure a standardised approach to issues relating to technical topics or the certification process. This results in RFUs for fundamental topics and/or with technical reference to individual subsystems. The NB-Rail RFUs can be viewed here.
Addition to QC: Unlike the RFUs, these issues are coordinated with the involvement of other external bodies (outside NB Rail).
