Article: Our Service
As an independent certification body, we carry out conformity assessments in accordance with the European Interoperability Directive (EU) 2016/797. This is always required as soon as the criteria (see in the respective TSI) for upgrading or renewal are met or a new placing on the market in the rail system takes place.
Our activities focus on the conformity assessment against European (from the TSIs) and national requirements (from the NNTR) for the various subsystems of the rail employee system. Our various recognitions at European and national level form the basis for this. Our range of services includes, among other things:
- Inspection of the interoperability constituent or subsystem (design examination / type examination)
- Auditing of the quality assurance system
- If positive: Preparation of the Notified Body dossier and/or Notified Body conformity assessment report or DeBo conformity assessment report and issue of the certificate of conformity
With the certificates issued by us, our clients receive an important building block for the approval process of subsystems or components. Our certificates are valid in all EU member states.
In accordance with the Interoperability Directive (EU) 2016/797 (link), the European rail system is divided into five structural subsystems and three functional subsystems. There are legal requirements from at least one TSI for each subsystem. As NoBO and DeBo, we provide our services in the five structural subsystems. The following diagram illustrates the allocation between structural subsystem, TSI and NNTR..
In all tasks, you benefit from our many years of experience in the entire rail employee sector. Click on the link to find out more about our services in the five structural subsystems.
- Infrastructure (INF): TSI INF, TSI PRM und TSI SRT
- Energy (ENE): TSI ENE und TSI SRT
- Trackside Control-Command and Signalling (CCT): TSI CCS, TSI SRT
- On-board Control-Command and Signalling (CCO): TSI CCS, TSI SRT
- Rolling Stock (RST): TSI LOC&PAS, TSI WAG, TSI NOI, TSI PRM, TSI SRT
In addition to the five structural subsystems mentioned above, the Interoperability Directive (EU) 2016/797 also defines three functional subsystems. These subsystems do not require conformity assessmen by a NoBo or DeBo:
- Operations and traffic management,
- maintenance,
- telematics applications for passenger and freight services.
